Pickrell, Beatrice crews rescue man from grain bin

Emergency response crews in southeast Nebraska were sent to Gage County town on a call of a grain bin rescue Thursday afternoon.

PICKRELL, NEB. - Emergency response crews in southeast Nebraska were sent to Gage County farm on a call of a man partially stuck in grain inside a bin.

Just after 2:40 p.m., Beatrice Fire and Rescue, Pickrell Rural Fire, and the Gage County Sheriff's office were sent to a farm southeast of Pickrell.  At the time, the temperature was around 93-degrees.

A town Fire Captain Dylan Wallman says the man was tied off and stuck in the middle of the bin.  Southeast Communications Dispatch says the man was in grain that was up to about his waist.

Crews were able pull the man from the grain bin and he did not sustain any injuries. There was no grain flowing into the structure at the time of the accident.

Crews were on scene for about 40 minutes.
