FAIRBURY, Neb. -- Fairbury has begun to make, as experts say, some much needed upgrades to its local farmers market.

The city of Fairbury will level the area near the corner of 4th and D Street for the upgrades.

According to sources, the transformation will be made to make the space more inviting, to beautify the area and keep it functional for future gatherings.

The farmers market says it is committed to keeping the spirit of the market alive and will share its alternative plans to continue supporting local vendors during the period of construction.

The original schedule for the farmers market spans from May to September, every Saturday morning, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

During the period of construction, the farmers market will provide updates to its schedule through its facebook page.
