BEATRICE — Bridge work is scheduled to begin about a mile west of Reynolds, in Jefferson County.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation says if weather allows, work will start March 25th on Nebraska Highway 8, with United Contractors, Inc. of Johnston, Iowa, the main contractor on the project.

Work includes construction of a new bridge that will be built in phases, accompanied by additional grading, concrete paving, guardrail and seeding work.  The bridge is over Rose Creek.

Traffic will be maintained with lane closures done in phases and temporary traffic signals will be used for the construction of the new bridge. An 11-foot width restriction will be in effect.

NDOT says completion is expected in November of this year.
