FAIRBURY, Neb. -- NACO Executive Director Jon Cannon commented on Gov. Jim Pillen’s effort to lead the charge for property tax relief in the state of Nebraska.

While county property taxes account for only one-sixth of the property tax load in the state, Cannon said counties are involved in every step of the property tax process and are sensitive to the burdens the citizens bear, while also mindful of the services they expect from their local government.

In a press release sent by NACO, they agree with the notions to make the property tax more predictable in the aggregate, allowing communities to grow commensurate to their needs and wanting more State relief to impact Nebraska property owners.

NACO applauds the governor for assembling stakeholders to move the ball forward in property tax relief in Nebraska, according to a press release.
