One driver taken for treatment, from north Beatrice collision

BEATRICE – One person was injured in a southeast Nebraska accident on a high- traffic street next to several fast-food restaurants.

A rear-end collision happened in Beatrice near Sixth and Monroe…where traffic often slows because of vehicles waiting to turn into restaurant driveways.

A Beatrice Fire and Rescue Captain says one of the drivers in the two-car collision was taken to Beatrice Community Hospital. The car struck in the rear was on the inside southbound lane of the highway, while the other vehicle was moved into a restaurant lot just west of the intersection.

The crash sent EMS and local police to the scene, at around 4:30 p.m., Saturday. The identities of those involved and the extent of injuries to the one driver were not immediately known.
