Fairbury man accused of lying about age to sexually assault teenage girl in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Fairbury man is facing several charges after he allegedly lied about his age and sexually assaulted a teenage girl in Lincoln.
Emmitt Miller, 24, was arrested and charged in Lancaster County with first degree sexual assault of a child and generating/distributing visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct with a child.
Lincoln Police were made aware of the alleged crime back in June when the 13-year-old victim’s family member reported that the victim was sexually assaulted by Miller, who she had met through Snapchat, court documents said. The victim told police she was sexually assaulted on two separate occasions.
According to the affidavit, the victim told police that she initially thought Miller was a 17-year-old named Adam when he sexually assaulted her at a southeast Lincoln hotel earlier that month. The victim said she later learned Miller had lied about his age.
The victim told police that Miller recorded a video as he sexually assaulted her which he then sent to her through Snapchat, the affidavit said.
On Tuesday, a judge set Miller’s bond at $300,000. He’s due back in court Nov. 17.
