Lincoln man arrested for reportedly assaulting man
A man from Lincoln was arrested after he reportedly assaulted a man, sending the victim to the hospital.
LINCOLN, Neb. -- A man from Lincoln was arrested after he reportedly assaulted a man, sending the victim to the hospital.
The Lincoln Police Department said they were sent to N 13th St. and P St. around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday for a report of an assault.
Officers said they found a 55-year-old man from Lincoln unconscious with a head injury. The man was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital and was in critical condition.
According to authorities, the man's injuries were life-threatening and he had a brain bleed that needed emergency surgery.
Police said they discovered that three people had gotten out of a vehicle and went up the the victim. The victim was reportedly punched in the face, causing him to fall back and hit his head on the sidewalk.
Officials said the three people got back into the vehicle and left. The vehicle was reportedly found at 18th St. and O St. at 1:45 a.m.
LPD said they arrested 22-year-old Angel Rodriguez Alvis, of Lincoln. Alvis was lodged at the Lancaster County Jail for first-degree assault.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information can contact LPD or Crime Stoppers.
