Lincoln Fire fixes middle school gas leak

A gas leak at a middle school in Lincoln was fixed on Thursday.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A gas leak at a middle school in Lincoln was fixed on Thursday.

The Lincoln Fire and Rescue said they were sent to Lefler Middle School for a reported gas leak at 11:0 a.m. on Thursday.

Officials said a construction crew was working near the school when they hit a gas line while digging.

According to authorities, LFR helped evacuate the students from the school after they made an exclusion zone around the gas leak.

Black Hills Energy reportedly came to the school and fixed the leak. No injuries were reported.
