Pickup, road grader collision fatal for Clifton, Kansas man

BEATRICE – A two-vehicle crash between a pickup and road grader has killed one person in Washington County, Kansas.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the collision happened Thursday morning at 9 a.m., four miles north of Kansas Highway 9….five miles northwest of Clifton.

The K-H-P says a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pickup driven by 78-year-old Douglas Toll, of Clifton was traveling east on Fifth Road when the driver failed to stop at a stop sign.

The pickup collided with a southbound Caterpillar Motor Grader operated by 48-year-old Jeremiah Peters, of Washington, Kansas.   The pickup driver, Toll….died at the scene.  Peters was not injured. 

Authorities said neither Toll nor Peters were using safety restraints.
