The National Weather Service is keeping an eye out for southeast Nebraska's first real chance of severe weather of the season.
Most of the Ol' Red 99.5 listening area is under a Slight Risk for severe weather Friday night into Saturday morning. "Slight" is a level 2 out of a possible 5 on the National Weather Service's scale.
The main threats with the storm are damaging winds gusting to 75 miles-per-hour and ping-pong ball sized hail. The National Weather Service forecasts the primary threat will be between 6 p.m. and midnight Friday.
The storms will bring a shift in winds, which have come out of the south most of the week. As we move into Saturday, those winds will instead come out of the north, bringing much cooler temperatures over the weekend.
