LPD identify teen shot, killed during house party
Authorities in Lincoln have released the name of the 18-year-old who died after being shot at a house party.
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Authorities in Lincoln have released the name of the 18-year-old who died after being shot at a house party.
The Lincoln Police Department said that 18-year-old Damien Brave of Lincoln has died from his injuries.
Friday night, around 11:30 p.m., LPD said they were dispatched to the 1800 block of N 27th St. for a report of gunshots.
When officers arrived, LPD said they had contact wit several individuals fleeing the house party.
Not too long after, officers said Brave was taken to a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
Authorities said that he later died due to his injuries.
"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of those impacted by this tragic and senseless act," said LPD officials.
LPD said they are aware there were dozens of high school-aged people at the party who possibly witnessed what happened leading up to the shooting and events that followed.
All information is valuable in this case, and we are asking them to come forward to talk with investigators about what happened, said police.
This is an ongoing investigation.
