FAIRBURY, Neb. -- Fairbury Mayor Spencer Brown declared a snow emergency.

This means all parking on emergency snow routes is prohibited and parking is prohibited in the downtown district until snow is windowed to the center of the street.

Once the snow has been windowed, vehicles are allowed to parallel park in this district unless otherwise noted.

Due to the fact that much of the snow came after many downtown business employees already were at work, Laura Bedlan from the city's public works department said the parking stalls will not be plowed until early tomorrow morning after the vehicles have been moved.

Vehicles parked in prohibited areas are subject to towing at the owner’s expense.

Here is the map of Fairbury’s emergency snow routes.
