Officials say no emergency with police presence at Jefferson Intermediate

FAIRBURY, NE — School officials and police say there is no emergency or threats to student or staff after the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office showed a presence at Jefferson Intermediate School Monday in Fairbury.

FAIRBURY, NE — School officials and police say there is no emergency or threats to student or staff after the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office showed a presence at Jefferson Intermediate School Monday in Fairbury. 

Sheriff's Office vehicles could be seen outside the school early Monday afternoon. 

According to Fairbury Public Schools Superintendent Stephen Grizzle, there is no emergency situation at the school and said deputies were assisting with a student issue. 

He told NCN the student's parents have been contacted and the incident would be handled according to school policy. 

Jefferson County Sheriff Nick Georgi echoed Grizzle's comments and added there was no threat to any students or staff.
