Volleyball teams across Nebraska begin postseason Monday
The high school volleyball postseason has arrived in Nebraska.
Classes C1, C2, D1 and D2 begin subdistrict play on Monday. Class B will start its postseason on Tuesday.
Fairbury is in the C1-1 subdistrict as the No. 2 seed at Syracuse Middle School. The Lady Jeffs will play Falls City at 7:30 p.m. following top-seed Syracuse's game against Auburn at 6 p.m.
Freeman is hosting the C2-1 subdistrict which also includes Johnson County Central, Tri County, Southern and Wilber-Clatonia.
Wilber-Clatonia will face Southern at 4 p.m. The winner will face the top-seeded Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Tri County plays Johnson County Central in between those two matches at 5:15 p.m.
Sutton is the top-seed and host for the C2-8 subdistrict. The Fillies play Fillmore Central at 5:30 p.m. Monday. They'll be followed by Superior and Thayer Central who play at 7 p.m.
In the Class D1-1 subdistrict, Meridian will play its matches on its home court. The other teams in the subdistrict are Johnson-Brock, Sterling, Dorchester and Pawnee City.
Pawnee City and Dorchester get things started at 5 p.m. with the victor taking on Meridian at 7:30 Monday. Sterling and Johnson-Brock will play at 6:15.
BDS is hosting the D1-7 subdistrict in Shickley, which also includes Deshler, Heartland, Sandy Creek and McCool Junction. The Eagles await the winner of McCool Junction and Sandy Creek who play at 4:30 p.m. Deshler and Heartland will face off at 6 p.m.
In Class D2, Diller-Odell is hosting the Class D2-1 subdistrict. The Griffons play Lewiston at 5:30 p.m. followed by Falls City Sacred Heart facing off with HTRS at 7 p.m.
And in the Class D2-2 subdistrict, Friend is the No. 5 seed and will play Nebraska Lutheran at 5 p.m. Monday. If they win, they'll advance to play top-seed and host High Plains Community.
Exeter-Milligan is the No. 2 seed in that subdistrict and will play Hampton at 6:15 p.m.
All subdistrict championship games will be played Tuesday.
The Class B subdistricts will also start Tuesday.
Beatrice, Crete and Norris are in the Class B-5 subdistrict. Beatrice and Norris play at 5 p.m. The winner will take on Norris, who is hosting, in the championship match at 6 p.m.
Teams who win their subdistricts will automatically qualify for the district final round which will played on Saturday.
