BEATRICE - In a rivalry battle of teams looking to reach .500, it was the Norris Titans outlasting the Orangemen, 14-13.
Beatrice would score the first 13 points of the game, as Kale Koch found the end zone for the firs time in his career on a fullback trap from two yards out and Deegan Nelson would score for the seventh time this season from two yards out.
The two touchdown's for Norris both came off turnovers by Beatrice. In the first half, Jaxson Blackburn was shot out of a cannon on a punt return, but fumbled, leading to a 54 yard touchdown reception for Micah Langston. Then, in the second half, Shelton Crawford would throw an interception in the red zone after a long Beatrice drive to open the half and Jarrett Behrends would find running back Blake Macklin for an 80-yard touchdown.
Beatrice had the ball deep in Norris territory, to the five yard line with under a minute to go, but a delay of game would be called on the Orangemen, putting the game up to the leg of Trevin Lang and he would miss the kick wide left.
Beatrice falls to 2-4 and heads to Crete on Thursday.
