LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lincoln Police Department has identified the 29-year-old man who died due to a motorcycle accident on Cornhusker Highway Friday. 

LPD said 29-year-old Erik Calhoun of Lincoln was transported to a local hospital where he died from the injuries he sustained from the crash. 

Friday night around 10:15 p.m., a blue Yamaha motorcycle was traveling east on Cornhusker Highway, and according to police, witnesses reported the motorcycle was speeding and ran a red light at N 27th St. 

Officials said the motorcycle collided with a black Ford F150 that was heading south on N 27th St. 

When police arrived to the scene, they said they did not see the motorcycle at the scene. 

LPD said witnesses reported a truck had driven up to the accident, picked up the motorcycle, put it in the bed of the truck and drove away. 

The truck was reported to be a black Ford 350, and police said it was located in a parking lot in the area. 

According to authorities, the motorcycle was recovered and one of the trucks occupants, 25-year-old Taylor Arizola of Lincoln, was arrested and lodged in jail for suspicion of tampering with evidence. 

Lincoln Police said the investigation also resulted in the driver of the Ford F150, a 37-year-old man from Lincoln, was being cited for suspicion of driving under the influence.
