National Night Out returning to Fairbury
FAIRBURY, NE — A night to promote law enforcement connections with people across the country is returning to a southeast Nebraska town.
FAIRBURY, NE — A night to promote law enforcement connections with people across the country is returning to a southeast Nebraska town.
Fairbury will host a National Night Out on August 2, in the town's City Park. Jefferson County Sheriff Nick Georgi says this is the first National Night Out in Fairbury since before the COVID-19 pandemic began.
Along with the Jefferson County Sheriff, the Fairbury Rural Fire Department, Jefferson County Ambulance and Emergency Management and Nebraska Game and Parks will all be in attendance.
Georgi says they're even planning to have a StarCare helicopter landing during the event, if it is not out on a call at the time.
National Night Out is a nationwide event where local law enforcement and first responders plan activities with their communities to build stronger connections. This year's event is Fairbury will last from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, in the parking lot of the Fairbury Community Building.
