Doane Track and Field Competes at NAIA Nationals

Doane University (Neb.) Track and Field closed out the athletics season on Friday with the conclusion of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The Tiger women posted 14 points and tied for 19th while the men finished with 7.6 points to place 46th with each team posting three NAIA All-American honors.
The first to bring home All-American honors was Lindsay Adams (FR/Omaha, Neb.) in the heptathlon on Thursday. She finished with 4,743 points to place 4th overall, becoming the first since 2016 to earn honors in the event. Allison Skala (JR/North Platte, Neb.) followed with a 3rd place finish in the shot put. She posted the same mark she had a year ago, 14.18m/46-06.25, and was within two inches of the top spot this year. Skala would add a second All-American honor on Friday as she placed 6th in the discus. She hit a throw of 44.23m/145-01.
Carter Reckling (SO/Crete, Neb.) earned the first All-American honor on the men's side as he tied for 7th in the high jump on Thursday. He cleared 2.00m/6-06.75 as five athletes tied for 7th. On Friday, Kalen Dockweiler (SO/Callaway, Neb.) picked up honors as he placed 5th in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:15.77, the second-fastest time in program history. Zach Turner (SO/Crete, Neb.) placed 6th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.10. Dockweiler and Turner joined the short list of All-Americans in their events, becoming the third male athletes to earn honors in those events.
