Beatrice girls win Trailblazer conference tourney, boys fall in third place game
It was two different outcomes for Beatrice basketball at the Trailblazer Conference Tournament finals in Wahoo.

WAHOO - It was two different outcomes for Beatrice basketball at the Trailblazer Conference Tournament finals in Wahoo.
The Lady Orange won the tournament conference championship, knocking off Wahoo 51-44. Wahoo came in highly ranked in Class C-1 with a 14-3 record -- all losses to Class-B teams. While Wahoo grew a dozen point lead in the first half, Beatrice responded, ending the first 16 minutes on a 16-3 scoring run.
They controlled the entire second half to get the win. Beatrice was led in scoring by Addie Hatcliff with 11 -- the third time she's led the team in scoring in the last four outings.
The boys played a solid first half in the third place matchup with Ralston, one where Elliot Jurgens dropped 17. They led by eight at the break. However, Beatrice scored just 13 second half points. Ralston (6-10) would dominate the third and fourth quarters to win 57-49.
Both Beatrice teams return home to take on rival Norris on Tuesday.
