BEATRICE, NE - A new exhibit is coming to Homestead National Historical Park.

The new Golden Spike exhibit in Beatrice is going to feature a series of historic photographs from the transcontinental railroad in Utah from over 150 years ago.

These photographs document the celebration of the completion of the railroad. They date all the way back to May 10, 1869.

This photo display is significant because the railroad helped homesteaders settle into the great plains, which began the infrastructure for many Nebraska communities.

These rare images will be on display until February 28th at the Homestead Education Center.
