BEATRICE- A retired financial advisor and former administrator for the City of Beatrice is seeking a city council position.

Terry Doyle filed Tuesday to run for a First Ward position on the Beatrice City Council. He is a former City Administrator for the City of Beatrice, in the 1970s and early 1980s. He’s also served on the Citizens Advisory Review Committee, the city’s LB 840 Committee….and just recently was named to a review committee that will look at applications for downtown business redevelopment projects.

"The community, honestly has been very good to me and my family. I've tried to, over the years, give back to the community wherever I can. This may be just another way. I'm retired now and I just think I would enjoy doing it and have some knowledge that may help. And, my wife was okay with it."

Doyle says he’s tried to keep up on the issues over the years and says the mayor and council have done a good job leading the city.

"I'm really proud of the mayor and the city council. I think there are great department heads and employees. I have no axe to grind at all. I just want to help where I can help."

Also filing for a position on the Beatrice District 15 School Board was Sabrina Glynn, of rural Beatrice.
