Downtown Beatrice businesses in the holiday spirit

Winners in a local storefront display contest announced.

BEATRICE – Main Street Beatrice has announced the winners in this year’s Storybook Christmas Store Front Display Contest.  Displays included decorations, lights and in some cases, video.

Twelve businesses entered displays this season.  There were co-winners of the Best Representation of Theme category…..Gems and Junk and Scheer Quality Furniture.

Sunrise Bakery won the award for Most Creative Use of Product and Theme….with Security First Bank winning an honorable mention.

The Most Creative Use of Technology award was earned by Home Instead.

The awards in the eleventh annual contest are presented by the Design Committee of Main Street Beatrice.

Main Street Executive Director Michael Sothan says voting for the People’s Choice Award closed, as of Tuesday.  The vote counting and announcement of a winner will be made in the coming days.
