CRETE, NE — The COVID-19 vaccine is becoming more accessible for southeast Nebraskans.

Public Health Solutions District Health Department says it will offer community vaccination clinics in Crete and Beatrice the next two weeks. The clinics aim to vaccinate people age 50 and older, post office employees, and workers in the child care, grocery, funeral, transportation, food processing industries.

The first clinic is on Thursday, April 1 at the Saline County Fairgrounds in Crete. The clinic will last from 10-6:30. It is available to people in the above listed groups who live in Fillmore, Gage, Jefferson, Saline and Thayer counties.

PHS changed its instructions since announcing the clinic because it isn’t completely integrated into the State’s registration system. Instead of registering online, officials ask that eligible residents call the PHS office at 402-826-6694 to schedule a vaccination. If you already registered online, you still need to contact the PHS office to schedule the vaccination.

The Beatrice clinic is scheduled for Tuesday, April 6th at the Gage County Fairgrounds and runs from 10-6:30. More specific details about that clinic have not been announced.
