LINCOLN - Kaden Glynn buried a three-pointer at the horn to force overtime and Beatrice fended off Elkhorn 36-34 to capture the Class B State Championship.

Both teams struggled to find offense in the first half and the Antlers (19-8) led the Orangemen (19-6) 19-16 at the break.

Beatrice trailed by as much as seven points in the third quarter before changing to full-court pressure defense and climbing back into the game. Bryant Jurgens stole the ball with in the final 30 seconds and the Orangemen called timeout down three points. Elkhorn changed from zone to a man-to-man defense for the final possession, thwarting Coach Clark Ribble's play design. Point guard Elliot Jurgens was able to create an open look for Glynn on the left wing and he nailed the three to tie the game at 29-29.

Glynn started OT by knocking in three free throws, then Bennett Crandall provided separation for the Orangemen. The senior intercepted a pass, made a defender miss and laid the ball in on a fast break to put Beatrice in front by five points with 1:22 remaining. They made enough free throws down the stretch to secure the two-point win.

The championship marks the program's first since 2008 and the eighth overall title.
