Strong winds blew across most of Nebraska on Sunday, downing branches, but not causing significant problems with power loss.

A large tree was knocked down at Riverside Park in Beatrice, landing near playground equipment in the park.

Winds gusted between 50 to 60 miles per hour in many Nebraska locations, with top wind gusts of 64 miles per hour recorded near Waco and St. Paul.

Southeast and south-central areas of the state were under a wind advisory from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A wind advisory remains in effect across much of Nebraska, according to the National Weather Service.

Under the advisory, officials say to use caution when driving. Officials also say that gusty conditions will move unsecured objects, potentially resulting in power outages as well.
