BEATRICE - One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident late Friday morning, about six miles north of Beatrice on U.S. Highway 77.  A Nebraska State Patrol officer confirmed one fatality in the mishap, where a vehicle went off the west side of the highway and rolled into a field.   A patrol dispatcher early Monday morning identified the fatality victim as 23-year-old Corey Summers, of Omaha.

A second vehicle, a pickup, was involved in the accident.   Beatrice Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.  Captain Corey Lieneman said two people were taken to a Lincoln hospital from the scene, in stable condition.  Both were taken to Bryan Health West.  Their identities were not immediately known.

The NSP dispatcher says the vehicle driven by Summers clipped the pickup, the driver overcorrected and the vehicle went off the west side of the highway, rolling over.

EMS personnel were dispatched at 11:53, to the accident just south of the junction of U.S. Highway 77 and Chesnut Road.
