SCOTTSBLUFF - Early snowfall totals show that residents in the Panhandle have their work cut out for them to clear the roads and sidewalks.

Estimates posted to social media showed about eight inches of snow in the town of Gering as of about nine a-m. The area in and around Scottsbluff and Gering was forecast to get up to a foot of snow once the storm moves through.

The National Weather Service office in Cheyenne estimated that the Scottsbluff area should expect another three inches of snowfall on Wednesday.
