One transported to hospital after being hit by train in Grand Island

A 35-year-old man has been sent to the hospital with serious injuries, after he was hit by a train Sunday afternoon, according to the Grand Island Fire Department.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A 35-year-old man has been sent to the hospital with serious injuries, after he was hit by a train Sunday afternoon, according to the Grand Island Fire Department.

It happened at the railroad crossing near Third Street and Broadwell Avenue at 1:09 p.m.

Our news partners KSNB say Grand Island Police are still on the scene and the tracks are closed in that area.
