Second Half Surge Pushes Omaha Christian Past Weeping Water

Guardians advance against Indians, 57-32, in BBB playoffs

BRAINARD, NE - The Weeping Water Indians were unable to notch their second win of the season, falling to the Guardians of Omaha Christian, 57-32, in the opening round of the Subdistrict D1-2 Boys Basketball Tournament at East Butler's place on Monday, as heard on Otoe County Country. The Guardians improved to 7-13 this season with the win, while Weeping Water ends up at 1-23.

Weeping Water didn't make it easy for Omaha Christian, holding right with their opponent in the first half. The game was tied at eight after the first quarter & knotted at 21 at halftime. A 24-7 third quarter, however, put the Guardians in front comfortably.

The Indians were led by Keegan Wipf Dieter, who threw down 21 points. The Guardians got 24 points from Nathan Friesen & another eleven from Nolan Swett.

Omaha Christian will now take on the host East Butler in the semis.

On the other half of the bracket, Lourdes Central Catholic takes on Mead at 7:30pm tonight...a game you can hear on Otoe County Country & B103.FM.
