Beatrice announces Wade Halvorsen as new head football coach

Beatrice High School has a new leader of the football program.

BEATRICE, Neb. - Beatrice High School has a new leader of the football program. 

Beatrice announced Wednesday that Wade Halvorsen will take over as the schools next head football coach. 

Halvorsen brings experience in both high school and college football. Most recently, he has served as Defensive Coordinator at Peru State College, following coaching tenures as Defensive Coordinator at Omaha Westside, Kearney High, and Aurora.

Halvorsen has been part of multiple state championship teams, including two Class A state titles, and four state championship game appearances.

His defensive units have set school records, earned national rankings, and produced numerous
All-State selections, Nebraska Shrine Bowl players, collegiate athletes, and professional
players. He was also selected as a 2023 Nebraska Shrine Bowl Assistant Coach and is a
two-time finalist for Nebraska Strength Coach of the Year. 

Halvorsen will be teaching in the high school alongside his coaching duties.
