Traffic stop leads to arrest in Thayer County

Thayer County, NEB. - A traffic stop on U.S. Highway 81 late Tuesday night led to the arrest of a York woman on multiple drug charges, according to the Thayer County Sheriff's Office.
At approximately 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, a Thayer County Sheriff's Deputy observed a northbound vehicle speeding. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and the driver consented to a search of the vehicle.
The sheriff's office says the department K-9 unit was nearby and responded to the scene. The K-9 led deputies to the driver's side bed of the pickup truck, prompting a further search of the vehicle.
The search uncovered methamphetamine, several pills in unmarked prescription bottles, marijuana, and various items of drug paraphernalia.
The driver, identified as 57-year-old Tammy Maspero of York, was arrested and booked on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
The case remains under investigation.
