Beatrice police arrest one, after drugs and paraphernalia found in hotel

BEATRICE, Neb. - A Beatrice woman is in custody after police discovered suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and prescription pills in her hotel room.
According to Beatrice Police, officers responded to the Capri Inn and Suites in north Beatrice around 6:43 p.m. Wednesday to speak with Diane Tiemann about recent drug activity.
When officers arrived, Tiemann met them in the hallway and admitted she had been holding onto a package for a friend. She said the package contained a pipe and was stored in a plastic container.
Tiemann allowed officers into her hotel room and handed them a plastic container with two glass pipes containing burnt residue. She also provided a black eyeglass case with another glass pipe and a prescription bottle with her name on it. Upon opening the case, officers discovered a self-sealed bag containing a white crystalline substance.
BPD says, based on officer training and experience, the substance was believed to be methamphetamine. Tiemann confirmed possession of prescription medication, including Xanax and Gabapentin.
After being read her Miranda rights, Tiemann initially denied selling drugs. However, she later admitted to having sold "a couple" Xanax pills and acknowledged having smoked methamphetamine, while denying any sales of meth.
Tiemann was taken into custody and transported to Gage County Jail.
The white crystalline substance tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine and was sent to the Nebraska State Patrol Crime Lab for further analysis.
