Huskers put a bow on spring practice with debut of Husker Games

Husker Football wrapped up spring practice on Saturday by taking to the field at Memorial Stadium, in a few unique ways.

LINCOLN, Neb. - Husker Football wrapped up spring practice on Saturday by taking to the field at Memorial Stadium, in a few unique ways. 

The Big Red played football, but also took part in a number of skills competitions, devoured buffalo wings, roped a mechanical bull, and some even played Midland in flag football.

The inaugural husker games event took place Saturday, kick started at Memorial Stadium. After midland beat Nebraska in women’s flag football 61-0, the Huskers took the field About 8,000 attended. The event started with a field goal competition, before a punting competition and some live 7-on-7's. About 8,000 attended. 

Husker Games is an alteration to Nebraska's traditional Red-White spring games of the past. The change comes after roster sizes were limited to 105. also featured Memorial Stadium tours, an equipment sale, and more before on-the-field activities.

After football was a soccer match between Nebraska and Wyoming and the day was capped with Husker Volleyball taking on Kansas.
