BEATRICE - Nebraska State Patrol officers have arrested two people during a narcotics investigation in Syracuse.

NSP investigators served a search warrant Thursday at about one p.m. at a residence in Syracuse, as part of an ongoing investigation.

Law officers located 186 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 536 grams of suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun...at the home located in the 600 block of Fifth Street. 

They also recovered additional methamphetamine while contacting two persons who had just exited the home.

30-year-old Kellie Bassinger and 41-year-old Brian Werner, both of Syracuse, were jailed in Otoe County on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of money during a drug violation, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

The Nebraska State Patrol was assisted by the Otoe County Sheriff’s Office and the investigation continues.
