FAIRBURY, Neb. -- A salad festival in Fairbury not only provides food to those in attendance, but also donates to help those in need.

The event is a fundraiser for the JCH&L Auxiliary and has been a community event since 1965.

Those in attendance donated $9 in advance or $10 at the door, and were treated to a buffet.

The funds would help give scholarships to students entering the medical field, provide Christmas gifts for residents of the Gardenside long term care at JCH&L, and more.

Last year’s event raised over $2,000.
