BEATRICE – The City of Beatrice is applying for federal help to aid a couple of major improvements at the Beatrice Municipal Airport.

The city council Monday night approved applications to the Federal Aviation Administration through the Nebraska Department of Transportation Division of Aeronautics….for an airport apron and taxiway reconstruction….and a project to relocate the fueling area at the municipal airport.

The council also approved a lease of hangar space at the facility.

This past year, the city took over budgeting for the Beatrice Municipal Airport, transitioning the Beatrice Airport Authority board into an airport advisory board.
