Disturbance leads to confrontation with officers, arrests in Reynolds

Three men are in custody on charges of terroristic threats, assault, and false reporting.

REYNOLDS, Neb. - Three men are in custody on charges of terroristic threats, assault, and false reporting.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, on Saturday , Jan. 27, just before 11:00 p.m., Jefferson County Dispatch received a call about a disturbance involving neighbors where use of a firearm was allegedly threatened in Reynolds. At 10:58 p.m., three deputies arrived to the Crawford St. residence and made contact with residents of the household.

Deputies attempted to speak with the individuals at the residence about the disturbance that occurred with the neighbors, but the individuals were aggressive towards the investigating officers, leading officers to attempt to detain two of the individuals, while a third male came up from behind deputies inside the house, and assaulted deputies numerous times. While officers were attempting to detain the two other individuals, a struggle ensued. 

During the investigation, 33-year-old Michael Leonard, 31-year-old Gary Keller, and 22-year-old Timothy Moody were arrested and transported to the Jefferson County Jail. 

Moody was booked for two counts of Assault on a Police Officer, Obstructing a Police Officer, and Resisting Arrest. Keller was booked for Terroristic Threats, False Reporting, and Obstructing a Police Officer, and Leonard was booked for Obstructing a Police Officer, False Reporting, and 2nd Degree Trespassing.
