HEBRON, Neb --   Medica and News Channel Nebraska are encouraging good health and well-being across the state with Stretch Across Nebraska.  The program is set up for people of all ages to send in a video or photo of their healthy activity and they could win a donation made, in their name, of $500 to the school of their choice.

Deb Bulin from Bruning, a teacher at Thayer Central Schools is the most recent winner.

Deb submitted a picture of her and her boot camp friends at the local fitness center all wearing pink as they were supporting breast cancer awareness on a pink out day.

Deb says it's important to maintain an active lifestyle.

"Well I'm approaching 60, so I think it's very important to stay active and healthy.  So I can do this will all the kids I teach all day.  I have some walking groups I do after school with some other teachers, we go walk and it's really important to stay focused and stay active for your kids."

As a teacher at Thayer Central, it wasn't a surprise on which school the teacher wanted her $500 donation to go to, but what it would be used for is unique.

"Our staff, we raise money to support some of our families in need.  Our big theme this year is "One School, One Family."   So we take some families that maybe have some hard times and during Christmas, we will give them $50 gift cards to the local grocery store."

Superintendent of Thayer Central Schools, Eric Miller thanked Bulin for her generosity.

"Deb is a fantastic math teacher for our district, but she is an even better person. She selflessly dedicates extra time, throughout the year, to the good of students and the Thayer Central Communities. Her donation is much appreciated and will go a long way to help out kids and their families during this holiday season!"

Winners are drawn every week and people of all ages are welcome to submit.  You can submit your videos and photos at newschannelnebraska.com and you could be the winner for your community!
