HASTINGS, Neb - Two southeast Nebraska teams picked up wins, but saw their seasons end on Thursday.

In Class C, seven-seed Freeman took on six-seed Wayne and picked up a 9-4 win after a 30 minute weather delay to start the day. Pitcher Sydney Lenners tossed a complete game while also cranking a three-run homer to contribute on offense. Freeman would however, drop the elimination game with top-seed Hastings St. Cecilia 13-1.

The Falcons end their season with a record of 25-7.

In Class B, Beatrice needed to win two games to stretch their season to the district final, which they did. The Lady Orange would top eight-seed Roncalli/Duchesne 11-3 in five innings. Beatrice scored seven of their 11 runs in the first inning, which included a home run by Sadie Hereth.

The Lady O would then meet seven-seed Scottsbluff, winning a wild one 16-8 in five innings. Delanie Roeder homered on the first pitch of the ball game before Paisley Belding ripped a grand slam, all part of a six run first inning for the Lady Orange.

However, Beatrice would fall in the semifinal with top seed Blair 8-0 in five innings. Beatrice ends their season 20-9.
