Beatrice Lady Orange in fourth, heading to final round of Class B State Golf
BEATRICE – Omaha Duchesne leads the team standings after the first day of the Class B Girls State Golf tournament at Scottsbluff Country Club….but the Beatrice Lady Orange have the individual leader of the tournament.
Kiera Paquette fired a first-round 76, one shot better than a trio of golfers….Whitney Dahir of Omaha Duchesne, Nelli Heinold of Scottsbluff and Julia Karmazin, of Elkhorn North.
Duchesne Academy shot a first-day team score of 337, to lead Elkhorn North by 14 shots going into Tuesday’s final round. Scottsbluff is a close third, while the Beatrice Lady Orange are in fourth out of the twelve-team field….with a first round 359….22 shots back.
Norris is in seventh, while Waverly is in eighth place.
For Beatrice, Paige Southwick and Maddie Nielsen both shot rounds of 89, and are tied for 15th, individually. Also for the Lady Orange, Aubrie Simmons shot a 105 and Myah Hood, a 108.
Individually from the area, Tia Phaisan of Waverly shot an 82 and is seven shots off the individual lead. Nebraska City’s Isabelle Johnson shot an 87 and is tied for ninth.
