BEATRICE – Gage County law officers responding to multiple reports of an erractic driver, arrested a Tecumseh woman for allegedly driving drunk, Monday morning at about 8:15.

Local deputies received reports from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and other motorists in Gage County of a vehicle that was all over the road, sometimes driving in the wrong lane of traffic and heading from Filley toward Beatrice.

A Gage County Sheriff’s deputy located the car entering the Beatrice city limits and turned around, to follow it.  The vehicle struck a curb near 19th and Court and drove across a yellow dividing line near the Family Fare Supermarket.

The car then made a sharp right turn and stopped across the sidewalk, a block west of 19th and Court.  After pulling in behind the car, the law officer stepped out of his vehicle and the driver of the suspect car backed up….hitting the front end of the county vehicle.

The sheriff’s investigator contacted the driver, 30-year-old Erica Beethe, of Tecumseh, who showed signs of impairment.

Beethe was arrested and taken to the Gage County Jail, for alleged driving under the influence.  No injuries from the incident were reported.
