Rock Creek Trail Days Set for This Weekend

FAIRBURY, Neb -- You can take a trip back in time this weekend and explore a place where road ranches served pioneers along the Oregon Trail, Pony Express riders carried mail across the West, and Wild Bill Hickok began a legendary career as a gun fighter. Rock Creek Trail Days is held annually the first full weekend in June at Rock Creek Station State Historical Park outside of Fairbury, Nebraska. The weekend is filled with activities as park volunteers demonstrate life back then. Two fan favorites are the Hickok McCanles narration and the Saturday night buffalo stew cookout. A park entry permit is required to visit the state park.
