Second graders honored for environmental efforts in Beatrice

BEATRICE – Eight elementary school students in Beatrice have been recognized for their efforts to clean up the local environment.

The students became “Mayors for a Day” at Monday night’s Beatrice City Council meeting…for their work in the Great American Cleanup Recycling Project, held April 12^th to the 21^st. 

The second graders from public and private schools were winners of Certificates of Appreciation from Keep Beatrice Beautiful and the City.  They also earned gift cards and coupons from Runza Restaurant and East Court Dairy Queen.
