BEATRICE - The Lady Orange begin the 2023 postseason with revenge as they knock off Norris 48-41 in the Class B-1 Subdistrict final. Just two weeks ago, the Titans handed Beatrice their worst loss of the season in Firth, but Tuesday night belonged to the Lady O.

Beatrice began the game with three turnovers in their first four possessions, leading to an early 5-0 lead by Norris. However, after a timeout by Jalen Weeks, Riley Schwisow, Addie Hatcliff and Avery Barnard all connected from deep, part of a 13-0 run by Beatrice to control the remainder of the first half. The Lady O would lead 26-17 at the break.

Beatrice maintained a 6-8 point lead for most of the third quarter, leading by nine heading into the fourth, but that's when things got interesting. Beatrice had pushed the lead to 10 at one point in the third, but Norris tied the game with a minute left thanks to a Ade Tidball three pointer, but Addie Hatcliff was fouled giving her two free throws -- both of which she made, before causing a Titans turnover. taht led to a wide open layup from Kiera Busboom and Beatrice would hang on for the seven point win.

Beatrice was led in scoring by Riley Schwisow who records her sixth straight game in double figures with 14... Avery Barnard tied her career high with 11.

Beatrice will host a district final on Saturday.
