FAIRBURY, NE — The Fairbury City Council is continuing to support a local youth center.

The council voted unanimously at its Tuesday night meeting to donated $4,000 to the Family and Youth Involvement Center in Fairbury.

Also known as the FYI Center, it's affiliated with the Blue Valley Community Action and offers after school programs for kids in the area. They also host special events throughout the year and provide volunteer opportunities for the kids involved at the center.

Its goal is to help at-risk youth to succeed in life by providing a crucial support system for them.

FYI Center Manager Dakota Howe says the center has been serving the area for the past 18 years.
