Sunday museum fundraiser in Cortland was a success
Silent auction and contributions help boost the effort to reopen the attraction
BEATRICE – A fundraiser to help save and preserve a village museum in Cortland, this past Sunday, was a success.
The event at the Cortland Community Center, organizers said, brought in donations of over $8,000. A group of citizens is working toward refurbishing and reopening the Cortland Village Museum which is along the town’s main street, across from the post office.
Officials are hoping to reopen it to the public, sometime in July.
The soup luncheon and silent auction fundraiser was held as a way of saying thanks for the community’s support of the project.
