Wendy's in Lincoln robbed by man with gun

A Wendy's manager reported that the business was robbed by a man with a handgun in Lincoln.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A Wendy's manager reported that the business was robbed by a man with a handgun in Lincoln.

The Lincoln Police Department said officers were dispatched to Wendy's, 2615 S 48th St., on Monday around 10:05 p.m. for a reported robbery.

Officers said they talked to the manager. The manager told them he was smoking outside the restaurant and an unknown man came up to him.

According to authorities, the suspect reportedly took out a gun and told the manager he was robbing him. The suspect then took the manager back inside.

Officials said the manager took out a bag of money from the safe along with cash from the register and gave it to the suspect. The suspect then fled the scene through the back door. LPD will not be releasing the amount of money that was stolen.
