Pumpkins, costumes, treats....in downtown Beatrice
Main Street Beatrice holds Night of the Great Pumpkin
BEATRICE – Children…and sometimes their parents, dressed up in costumes to roam the downtown area of Beatrice, Thursday night.
Main Street Beatrice held their annual Night of the Great Pumpkin event…..where children could get a free pumpkin for attending….the gourds stretched out along Court Street between Fifth and Sixth.
Business owners and their staff dressed up in costumes, handing out treats to those attending. The City of Beatrice and Gage County had vehicle displays on the street between Sixth and Seventh…also handing out candy. The event give parents and their children an alternative safe trick-or-treating option, and supports downtown business on a night stores are open later.
Hundreds attended the popular event, which also featured a costume contest, games, a kids’ movie at the local theatres and face painting at a nearby church.
Night of the Great Pumpkin activities were from five p.m. until seven p.m. Rain forecasted for the area stayed away, until late in the evening and early Friday morning.
