Lincoln dumpster fire being investigated as possible arson

The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a possible arson after a dumpster fire damaged part of a building.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a possible arson after a dumpster fire damaged part of a building.

LPD said officers were sent to 2145 N Cotner Blvd. with Lincoln Fire and Rescue on Oct. 23 at 6:20 p.m. to investigate a possible arson.

Officials said the dumpster fire damaged a portion of the side of the building. Witnesses reportedly told officers they saw two children, 10- to 12-years-old, by the dumpster when the fire started.

According to authorities, the total damage estimated was $2,600.
