STEELE CITY - A weekend motorcycle accident near Steele City, Nebraska, sent a Lincoln man to the hospital via helicopter.    

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's office, the accident occurred on Saturday just before 3pm.  

The driver of the 2015 Harley Davidson, 58 year old Kenneth Hagemann of Lincoln, was heading northbound on Railroad street in Steele city when he attempted to pass a truck just before the intersection of Highway 8.   While attempting to pass, the motorcycle lost control and left the roadway where it rolled 3 times before coming to a rest in a ditch near the intersection.   Hagemann was thrown from the motorcycle and was life flighted from the scene via StarCare Medical Helicopter with critical injuries.
